REVELSTOKE — RCMP are investigating a possible attempted child abduction in Revelstoke yesterday.

Mounties say a 12-year-old girl was walking to Columbia Park Elementary School when a man she described as First Nations driving a newer black four-door car approached her.

Police say the girl reported that man told her that he was there on the mothers behalf, to bring her home and then got out of the vehicle — prompting her to run home, unharmed.

The suspect is described as five foot eleven inches tall, 30 to 40 years old, wearing a black jean jacket and hooded sweater and anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police.
