KAMLOOPS — Ty Ronning’s second goal of the night would prove to be the difference for Vancouver, as the Giants beat the Blazers by a 5-4 score Saturday night at the Sandman Centre.

Ronning’s goal came with 7 seconds remaining in the second period, and just 19 seconds after Luc Smith cut the Vancouver lead to two after tipping in a Brady Reagan point shot past Giants goalie Todd Scott.

The Blazers would battle back. Jermaine Loewen scored his third goal in two nights off a nice feed in front from Nolan Kneen.

Loewen would then score his second of the night on a hard wrister from the high slot on an odd-man rush to get Kamloops within one.

That’s as close as the Blazers would come, as the Giants hung on for the 5-4 road win.

Garrett Pilon and Luc Smith had the other goals for the home side, while Tyler Benson had a goal and two helpers for Vancouver. Todd Scott stopped 43 of 47 shots between the pipes for the Giants.
