Startup Kamloops wins national award

KAMLOOPS — A major honour for Startup Kamloops.

The local network that brings together entrepreneurs, resources, and the organizations that support them won Startup Canada’s Community of the Year Award in Ottawa Thursday.

The award recognizes the community that is having an extraordinary impact on the environment for entrepreneurship.

“This award elevates Kamloops as a hub for entrepreneurship both regionally and nationally,” says Lincoln Smith, executive director of Kamloops Innovation.  Smith accepted the award on behalf of Startup Kamloops. “We are thrilled to accept this award on behalf of our whole community. This award is for our entrepreneurs, community leaders, and entrepreneur-support organizations who continue to make Kamloops a destination for entrepreneurship and innovation.”
