KAMLOOPS, B.C. — Kamloops Mounties are seeking the public’s assistance into last week’s fatal shooting.

Thirty-four-year-old Konaam Shirzad was shot to death outside his home on Hudson’s Bay Trail last Thursday night and another was injured. Minutes later a stolen red Honda Civic was reported burning on Odin Court, off of Whiteshield Crescent. Police confirmed Thursday the vehicle, stolen in the Lower Mainland, was connected to the case.

Between 7 -7:10 p.m. last Thursday, surveillance video from the area shows the Honda being parked on the lower end of Hudson’s Bay Trail on the north side of the road facing west. As the Honda is being parked, a dark-coloured SUV drives by, heading east. Police would like to speak to the driver of the SUV.

Two suspects are seen walking from the vehicle across the empty lot that is on the corner of where Hudson’s Bay Trail turns west. The suspects appear to be male and dressed in dark-coloured clothing. Police would like to talk to a pedestrian that was walking north on a portion of the Hudson’s Bay Trail that runs north-south.

Police are also asking anyone with a dash camera who was in the area of Hudson’s Bay Trail, Odin Court, Victoria Street and all points in between to call them. Police would also like to speak to anyone with surveillance video in any of these areas or points in between.

If you have any information you are asked to call police at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-8477.
