KAMLOOPS — RCMP are warning Kamloops businesses after the discovery of counterfeit US $20 bills.

Police say over the past week, some businesses have inadvertently accepted the fakes, and others have refused to accept them.

The detachment says all businesses should review counterfeit detection practices with their employees, and remind their employees they are not obligated to accept cash if they suspect it to be fake.

The Bank of Canada website has information on how to detect counterfeit cash, both Canadian and American.
