KAMLOOPS — Kamloops annual outdoor farmers market kicks off tomorrow.

This year’s market will take place once again on Saint Paul Street between Second and Third Avenue.

The market will run every Saturday into the fall, with more than 50 vendors expected to take part in this weekend’s season opener.

“Most of our vendors are from Kamloops. We make a point of prioritizing local entrepreneurs and vendors,” said Market Manager Amanda Breuer. “You’ll find lots of plants, flowers, seeds, all that kind of stuff to get your garden going. We’ll also have artisan soaps, meat, cheese, honey, baking, soup, bread, pretty much everything.”

According to Breuer, cooler temperatures has limited this year’s veggie supply.

“It’s been a bit different this year because it’s been a bit colder so there’s not as many greens,” added Breuer. “However we will have some winter greens from farmers that have greenhouses and stuff like that.”

Saturday’s market will run from 8 a.m. to noon, with hours hoped to be extended the beginning of May.

Breuer says a second outdoor market is also set to run every Wednesday in front of the downtown library beginning May 3rd.
