Highway closures continue to cause problems

KAMLOOPS — Changing weather conditions continue to play havoc on B.C. highways.

Highway 1, the Trans Canada is now open to single lane alternating traffic between Cache Creek and Spences Bridge following a earlier rock slide.

Highway 12 is closed in both directions between Lytton and Lillooet, that section of highway is not expected to open until Saturday, at the earliest.

Highway 8 is closed between Spences Bridge and Merritt due to a mudslide, a update is not expected until 4pm on that stretch.

Also in the Merritt area, Coalmont Road is closed from Tulameen to the junction of Highway 5A because of an avalanche hazard.
