KAMLOOPS — If Kamloops cold weather has you thinking of planning a trip to Mexico or Hawaii, you’re not alone.

According to Travelwise Travel & Cruise Centre agents, December demand is busier than ever.

“Normally we’re a little bit quieter this time of year. We’re still super busy and this cold weather definitely attributes to some of that,” said Roxanna Ferguson, Owner of Travelwise Travel & Cruise Centre.

Ferguson says the most popular countries for travel this time of year are Mexico and Cuba.

On top of escaping the cold, Ferguson says today’s fast-paced world has people placing more importance on peace-of-mind.

“In our industry it’s about sanity, it’s about staying sane. Many people will for-go spending furniture, so they can go away and have that week of sanity, and rest and relaxation and sunshine.”

Ferguson says January still remains the agency’s busiest month of the year with over one million dollars in bookings.
