KAMLOOPS — The Communist Party of BC has announced it will run candidates in both Kamloops-area ridings during next spring’s election campaign.

Former Kamloops and District Labour Council president Peter Kerek will run in Kamloops-North Thompson, and local baker Beat Klossner has been chosen as the candidate in Kamloops-South Thompson.

The two will make their first official appearances as candidates during Monday’s annual Labour Day picnic.

The Communist Party has never run candidates in Kamloops before, and according to a news release, will not run enough candidates in next spring’s election to form government.
