MERRITT, B.C. — The Rockin’ River Fest kicks off today (July 28) in Merritt, and runs through the B.C. day long weekend.

Thousands of country music fans will be descending on the area to take in the sights and sounds.

The festival got its beginnings in Mission, B.C. but has since moved.

“We decided to bring it out to the old Merritt Festival ground, because it is perfectly located in the heart of B.C.,” said organizer Kenny Hess.

There’s something for everyone, including a chance to ride a mechanical bull, play human foosball and take part in jumbo beer pong.

For the more relaxed crowd, there’s sunbathing in the river, and making friends in the campgrounds.

Headliners include Sam Hunt, John Michael Montgomery, Randy Houser, The Chris Buck Band, Dean Brody, Josh Gracin, and many more.

Tickets are still available at www.rockinriverfest.com
