KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are hunting for a man who used a baseball bat to terrorize a gas station attendant last night.

At about 7:30 p.m., the suspect walked into the Petro Canada convenience store on Sydney Avenue, demanding the attendant open the cash register.

That's when the culprit swung the bat at the victim, hitting him in the face.

The man took off with cash and lottery tickets.

While the victim suffered some bruising on his face, he was not seriously injured.

The suspect is described as white, about 5'10" with a thin build.

He was unshaven and wearing a blue Blue Jays ball cap, black sunglasses, black jogging pants, black gloves, and carrying a black backpack.

If anyone has information on the robbery or the suspect, they're asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
