RCMP targeting speeders on Westsyde Road

KAMLOOPS — RCMP have a warning for drivers travelling along Westsyde Road this week.

BC Hydro crews are installing new poles along the route, and drivers are being urged to slow down. The work started last week, and despite having traffic control in place crews are having problems with people driving by at a high rate of speed, putting work crews in danger.

“If you’re going through any construction zone, you must always obey the flagging people there, we’re going to have special enforcement out there this week, anyone found speeding will be issued a speeding ticket and a failing to obey a construction zone violation ticket, so just make sure when you’re on Westsyde Road that you’re slowing down this week please,” says Corporal Jodi Shelkie of Kamloops RCMP.
