RCMP resurrect cold case investigation

KAMLOOPS —  Kamloops Rural RCMP are reaching out to the public in resurrecting a cold case from last summer.

They’re appealing to the public for information about a hit and run that happened last July up at Sun Peaks.

RCMP Corporal Jodi Shelkie says about 2:30 AM on July 19th last year, a group of three males were walking single fall along Sun Peaks Road.

A dark-coloured older-model pickup struck one of the males and took off from the scene.

Police searched the area and asked for the public’s help at the time, but couldn’t solve the case.

The victim suffered a serious head injury along with lower body injuries, but has since recovered.

Police are still looking for tips and are again putting out the appeal for anyone who might have seen anything to contact the RCMP or Crimestoppers.

The news release didn’t indicate if there was a specific reason police have chosen now to reissue the appeal for help.
