Snowfall warning on Interior highways

KAMLOOPS — It’s not a great day to travel. Snowfall warnings are out this morning for both the Coquihalla and Fraser Canyon. 20-25 centimeters of snow expected between Hope and Merritt today, and even the Canyon is going to get a dump. 10-15 centimeters expected there. The snow is expected to ease by this afternoon. Lesser amounts of snow will fall on the Hope-Princeton, and Rogers Pass and Highway 97 north.  In Kamloops, the snow should end by noon, but we are expecting flurries pretty much right through Monday. Streets in Kamloops are slick in many areas this morning, and while most main roads have been plowed, intersections are dicey and RCMP warning you to leave lots of time to stop. Compact snow with slippery sections and slushy sections on all interior highways this morning. Check the Drive BC website before heading out.
