A man has been arrested after a bizarre incident at Marion Schilling Elementary School in Valleyview this morning.

Kamloops RCMP were called to the school at about 10:20, responding to the report of a man outside the school with his pants down.

There were no students at the school today as it is a professional development day, but one of the teachers saw the man standing outside a classroom window and immediately told the principal who called police.

The man took off before officers arrived, but was found not far away.

He was arrested in relation to this incident and an outstanding warrant out of Kelowna.

RCMP say he is known to police and will be held in custody while the incident is investigated.
