KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Live! Box Office (KL!BO) will be closed for the next few days in preparation for the move to a new online system Wednesday, Jan. 15.

KL!BO Director Michelle Chabassol says they’re moving to a new system called Spektrix as their current provider, Theatre Manager, is ceasing operations “in the near future.”

“We had to spend some time and search out a new program,” Chabassol told CFJC Today. “We did some research and we decided that moving to Spektrix was going to be the best option for us.”

“There are going to be lots of features that are really similar to what we currently have but it’ll be much more improved such as a more intuitive online ticket sales and more options for payment. For example, we’re looking forward to being to take Google and Apple Pay in the near future.”

Chabassol says the box office will be closed from Monday Jan. 13 until Thursday Jan. 16 to facilitate the move. You won’t be able to buy any tickets to Western Canada Theatre or Kamloops Symphony shows during that four day period.

She also said all existing customer account information and tickets will be transferred over, though you’ll have to reset your password once the new system has launched.

“We’re making lots of backups of the old system so if you don’t see your tickets immediately in your new account, you can contact us and we’ll be able to suss out what’s going on and where your tickets might have gone,” Chabassol said.

“Spektrix has an excellent support system, so if we do have any issues we’ll always be reaching out to them.”

Chabassol says while the new Spektrix system will much more user-friendly, you’ll still be able to buy tickets in person at the Pavilion Theatre once the system is back up and running.

“We are still going to be Kamloops Live! Box Office, and we’re going to have the safe staff and provide all of the same things,” Chabassol said. “We’re just doing a change in our systems on the back end to be able to provide you with a better service.”
