Memorial service for former Sun Peaks mayor Al Raine to be streamed live, simulcast in Whistler
SUN PEAKS B.C. — More details have been released about next week’s memorial service for Al Raine, the only person to ever serve as the mayor of Sun Peaks.
Raine died last month at the age of 83 surrounded by family after a battle with ALS.
His celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 15 between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the ballroom of the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel. It will feature remarks from Raine’s sons, Willy and Charley; his wife, Olympic skier and former Senator Nancy Greene Raine; and his brother Bill, among others.
Doors will open at 3:00 p.m., and people are being asked to RSVP by Monday, Jan. 13 if they plan on attending.
