Teenager struck and killed by train north of Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — RCMP are confirming a teenager has died after he was hit by a train north of Kamloops.

An email from BC RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Kris Clark confirms the incident, which occurred near Vinsulla, was reported to Barriere RCMP at 11:12 p.m. on Sunday (Jan. 5).

Clark says the victim has been identified as a 15-year-old boy.

The BC Coroners Service is investigating, with the Barriere detachment in support.

“Our thoughts are with the family during this tragic time,” said Clark.
