KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP seized numerous weapons from a man caught riding a bike without a helmet or a light.

RCMP say an officer was patrolling at around 7:50 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 4) when they found the cyclist. A news release issued Friday does not specify which location.

“As part of the investigation, the officer located weapons, including a baton, and arrested him for possessing a weapon for dangerous purposes, in addition to obstruction,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson, says.

Police say the man allegedly fled from police the day before when an officer tried a traffic stop at around 3:00 p.m. Tuesday. After Wednesday’s arrest, the man held in custody for a bail hearing on his charges, which includes failure to comply with a court order.
