Blazers give up six unanswered goals in blowout loss to WHL-leading Silvertips

EVERETT, WASH. — Oren Shtrom had the only goal for the Kamloops Blazers who were beaten 7-1 by the Everett Silvertips Saturday (Nov. 30) night at the Angel of the Winds Arena.

The WHL-leading Silvertips struck first with less than 30 seconds in the opening period, though Shtrom tied things up with a power play goal inside the first minute of the second period.

It was all Everett after that as they scored six unanswered goals, five of which came in the second period, to improve to 21-3-2-1. The Blazers meanwhile dropped to 12-14-1-1 and sit seventh in the Western Conference.

Logan Edmonstone picked up the loss for the Blazers, having given up four goals on 24 shots in 30:52 of action. Dylan Ernst then allowed three goals on 20 shots in 29:08 of relief work.

Up next for the Blazers is a home game against the Seattle Thunderbirds this Friday, Dec. 6, at 7:00 p.m..

It’s the final game at Sandman Centre before the WHL holiday break, as they Blazers will close out the first half of the season with four games on the road.
