New snow, chairlift arrive in time for opening day at Sun Peaks Resort

SUN PEAKS, B.C. — Opening day at Sun Peaks Resort is scheduled for Saturday (Nov. 22).

All 13 lifts will be turning and more than 100 of the resort’s 144 trails will be open, along with the full complement of its nordic-skiing offerings.

There are early-season conditions to be cautious of, with rocks, brush and foliage on runs at lower elevations.

But, as CFJC Today reports, a foot of fresh snowfall over the past week and a mid-mountain base of 79 centimetres has resort staff buzzing.
