Traffic snarled on Highway 1 east of Chase due to vehicle incident

CHASE, B.C. — UPDATE (2:20 p.m.): According to Drive BC, the route has now been cleared.

EARLIER: The Trans Canada Highway east of the Village of Chase is closed in both directions.

DriveBC first reported of a vehicle incident on Highway 1 near Matteys Road at around 11:30 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 14). A photo posted to social media shows a semi-truck blocking both lanes.

Drivers are told to expect delays. A detour is available via Highways 97, 97A and 97B.

Another update is due at 1:00 p.m. Thursday.
