February 13, 1956 – November 3, 2024   

Regretfully we announce the death of Brian McMillan to pancreatic cancer at the age of 68. Brother to Chuck (Corinne) McMillan, father to Melanie (Mitch) Olsen, Bryce (Jessica) McMillan, grampa to Emelia, Brooke, Matthew and Michael and husband to Donna. 

Brian was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He lived in Flin Flon for his toddler years then came to B.C. to live in Penticton, before finally settling in Kamloops during grade school. 

Brian was truly a family man, trying never to miss out on his kid’s activities, even changing jobs from construction to logistics at RIH so he didn’t have to be out of town. He was exceptionally proud of Melanie and Bryce, but his grandchildren were the sparkle in his eye and the next generation of bragging rights. 

Donna and he had a beautiful marriage with no regrets. Traveled enough to dampen curiosity yet stayed home enough to feel settled. The lake was Brian’s happy place, and his family and friends were his passion. 

Brian’s exit will leave a huge hole in our lives, but he has taught us well and given us the tools to move forward. If Brian could leave one thought he would say “Call a friend, keep in touch” as he was often the glue of the gang. 

There will be no formal service at this time.
