Lillooet emergency department temporarily closed for 25 hours

LILLOOET, B.C. — The emergency department in Lillooet will be unavailable heading into the weekend.

Interior Health states the emergency department at Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre will be temporarily closed from 7:00 a.m. Friday (Nov. 8) to 8:00 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 9). A reason for the closure was not provided in a news release issued Thursday night.

All other inpatient services will continue as normal at Lillooet Hospital. Residents in the area in need of emergency care are asked to visit Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops during the closure.

It’s the 20th temporary closure for the Lillooet emergency department in 2024. Eleven of them have taken place in the fall.
