BONAPARTE FIRST NATION — The Bonaparte First Nation near Cache Creek says two newly completed water treatment plants will help distribute clean water to remote corners of the community.

In a news release issued Monday (Oct. 28), the Nation says the plants are located in the Lower Hat Creek area and will serve IR#1 and IR#2 on the Bonaparte reserve.

These parts of the community have been subject to intermittent drinking water advisories for the past 20 years.

The federal government funded the two facilities through Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), to the tune of $9.8 million.
