Larsen of Kamloops nets OT winner for Storm in Fernie
FERNIE, B.C. — Ryan Larsen was the overtime hero for his Kamloops Storm on Saturday (Oct. 20), scoring in the extra frame to lift his club to a 6-5 victory over the hometown Fernie Ghostriders in Kootenay International Junior Hockey League action.
Noah Paulsen scored twice and Keenan Holland, Brandon Burns and Aaron Zulinick notched singles in regulation in support of Storm goaltender Dawson Holitzki, who made 54 saves to pick up the win between the pipes.
Riley Enns, Ben Skarsen, Coden Fournier, Eric Martin and Like Rothfos scored for the Ghostriders (3-2-1-1), whose netminder, Nick Kunyk, stopped 30 shots in a losing effort.
Kamloops has seven wins and five losses this season and sits second in Doug Birks Division standings.
