MERRITT, B.C. — For much of the election results reporting period Saturday evening (Oct. 19), Fraser-Nicola was the closest riding in the Kamloops area, but the Conservatives pulled away as the night went on.

Former Merritt councillor Tony Luck will be elected with a margin of 55 per cent to 36 per cent over the NDP’s Francyne Joe.

Jonah Timms of the Green Party received about nine per cent support.

Luck succeeds Jackie Tegart of BC United, who opted not to run for re-election after leader Kevin Falcon suspended the party’s campaign on the eve of the writ drop.
