Lillooet emergency department to be temporarily closed for 25 hours

LILLOOET, B.C. — For the 16th time in 2024, the emergency department in Lillooet will be temporarily closed.

In a news release, Interior Health says the emergency department at Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre will be unavailable from 7:00 a.m. Friday (Oct. 18) to 8:00 a.m. Saturday due to limited physician availability. All other inpatient services will continue as normal at Lillooet Hospital.

Residents in the area who need life-threatening emergency care are asked to call 9-1-1 or travel to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops during the 25-hour closure.
