WolfPack concede late goal, fall to Heat in Kelowna

KELOWNA — The TRU WolfPack men’s soccer team has made a habit of conceding late goals that spell defeat during the 2024 Canada West men’s soccer campaign and the trend continued on Saturday (Oct. 12) in Kelowna.
Spencer Mellett scored for the UBC Okanagan Heat in the 88th minute to lift his club to a 1-0 victory over the WolfPack, whose goalkeeper, Luca Ortu, stopped six shots in a losing effort.
TRU and the UNBC Timberwolves of Prince George have matching 1-11-2 records and will play twice next weekend in Kamloops to finish their seasons.
Game time is 7 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 18) and Saturday (Oct. 19) at Hillside Stadium.
