SD73 dismisses secretary-treasurer Cassidy, others after accounting error leads to budget shortfall
KAMLOOPS — In the wake of an accounting mistake that led to a $2.2-million shortfall in the Kamloops-Thompson School District budget, the district’s secretary-treasurer has been fired.
Sources tell CFJC Today Trina Cassidy has been dismissed as secretary-treasurer for the district. An organizational chart posted to the school district’s website shows the position as vacant.
Also removed from the organizational chart are Cassidy’s executive assistant, Dawn Forsey, and the executive assistant and secretary to the board, Chelsey Boissonneault.
In a statement to CFJC Today, Superintendent Rhonda Nixon said “I cannot offer comment on specific individuals’ employment status with the school district.”
