Vehicle incident snarls traffic on Highway 5 between Vinsulla and McLure

UPDATE (12:45 p.m.): DriveBC says the stretch of Highway 5 is expected to reopen at 2:00 p.m.

UPDATE (9:30 a.m.): A detour is now in effect via Highway 24 but DriveBC says the stretch of Highway 5 North remains closed in both directions.

Another update is due at 1:00 p.m.

EARLIER: KAMLOOPS — A multi-vehicle incident has closed traffic on a portion of Highway 5 north of Kamloops Tuesday (Oct. 8) morning.

DriveBC first reported of the incident between Vinsulla and McLure – Highway 5 between Kealty Road and Orchard Lake Road – at around 7:50 a.m. Tuesday.
