Storm’s home opener spoiled by Heat

KAMLOOPS — The Chase Heat topped the Kamloops Storm 3-1 in Kootenay International Junior Hockey League play on Saturday (Sept. 22) on McArthur Island.

Jack Smith, Spencer Brazel and Max Pelletier scored in support of goaltender Ben Turvey, who stopped 26 shots to pick up the win between the pipes.

Riddick Feely tallied for the Storm, with Brenner Fyfe making 28 saves in a losing effort.

Kamloops blanked hometown Chase 4-0 on Friday.

The Merritt Centennials (1-1-0-0) will host the Storm on Friday (Sept. 27), a 7 p.m. start at Nicola Valley Arena.
