Nicola Valley Hospital emergency department closed temporarily due to limited physician availability

MERRITT, B.C. — The Nicola Valley Hospital emergency department in Merritt will be closed from 7 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 22) to 8 a.m. on Monday (Sept. 23), according to an Interior Health press release.

Patients can access care at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

The closure in Merritt is due to limited physician availability, according to the release, which notes those experiencing life-threatening emergencies should call 911 for transport to the nearest available facility.

All other inpatient services will continue as normal at Nicola Valley Hospital.
