‘I just want my husband back’; Michael Scott missing for nearly two weeks

KAMLOOPS — Michael Scott was last seen on September 2, and hasn’t been heard from since.

Scott was seen leaving Royal Inland Hospital, wearing a black t-shirt and sweatpants and white shoes, with a white blanket around his shoulders. Three days later, his truck was found near the Red Bridge in Kamloops being driven by two other men.

In the more than a week that’s followed, Michael’s wife and young child have not seen or heard from him.

“My baby looks for his dad every day. He just screams, ‘Daddy, daddy,’ and looks around and I just look at his face and I have no answer to give my son. I don’t know what is going to happen,” said Scott’s wife, Tasnim Zarin Azmayen. “There are only a couple of friends who are helping to put out posters and stuff. It would nice if I had more help. I spoke with [Kamloops Search and Rescue Friday] as well. They are going to look into it. I just want my husband back and I want him all the help he needs.”

Scott is known to enjoy camping and the outdoors but left without his phone, wallet or any survival gear and the 10 days is now the longest he has ever gone without contacting his loved ones.

Scott recently lost his business during COVID and has been struggling mentally and physically.

“His body is giving up. His mind is giving up. Now we have a baby, he has more responsibility,” said Azmayen. “I don’t know… I feel like he needs lots of help and I know there is lots of resources and stuff in the community, but he never got any help.”

Anybody with information into the disappearance of Scott is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP.
