Woman in Valleyview suffers serious burns after having tent lit on fire: Kamloops RCMP
KAMLOOPS — A woman in Valleyview was found with serious burns over the long weekend after her tent was set on fire.
Kamloops RCMP say officers were called to a gas station on the 1700-block of the Trans Canada Highway East at around 7:30 a.m. Monday (Sept. 2) where paramedics were tending to the woman.
In a news release issued Thursday afternoon, RCMP say an assault reportedly took place on a trail off Westoby Road nearby where the woman had been assaulted with a weapon and had her tent lit on fire. Police believe the parties are involved with each other.
RCMP say the General Investigations Support Team, a fire investigator and the Forensic Identification Unit are assisting in the investigation.
