Work to begin shortly on Bruhn Bridge replacement in Sicamous
SICAMOUS, B.C. — Sicamous residents and Trans Canada Highway commuters are being advised to prepare for a major bridge replacement project.
In a news release, the province’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure says work to replace the R.W. Bruhn Bridge on the west end of Sicamous is imminent.
Once it is finished, the project will see the bridge replaced with a new, four-lane structure, as well as improvements to 1.9 kilometres of the highway.
AECON-Emil Anderson GP has been awarded a $136-million contract for this portion of a project predicted to cost $260 million in total. The federal government is kicking in $91.1 million.
