BC Hydro has resolved the problem that forced the Village of Cache Creek to plead with residents on Friday (Aug. 23) to limit water usage after a lightning storm blew through the area, but residents are still being asked to be be cautious.

A Voyent Alert! issued on Saturday (Aug. 24) notes the problem was disruption in power to the community’s water treatment plant and crews worked until 3 a.m. on Saturday to fix the system.

Residents are asked to use caution because water level sensors are not yet functioning correctly.

“While the situation is certainly not as dire as it may have seemed last night, we still need to reduce water use temporarily to ensure we can manage the system effectively,” reads the Voyent Alert!
