One person dead, another sent to hospital following single-vehicle collision on Highway 1 in Savona

KAMLOOPS — One person is dead following a single-vehicle collision on the Trans Canada Highway east of Savona on Sunday (Aug. 11) evening.

The collision involved two occupants from Port Coquitlam, according to an RCMP media release on Monday (Aug. 12).

One person has passed away while another was sent to hospital with what RCMP are calling serious and possibly life-threatening injuries.

RCMP say early in their investigation it appears the pick-up truck travelling east overcorrected and rolled over into the westbound ditch.

Both occupants were trapped inside while the fire department assisted with extraction, according to the RCMP media release.
