Group of properties threatened by Shetland Creek wildfire downgraded to evacuation alert: TNRD

A revised evacuation order has been issued by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District due to immediate danger to life safety caused by the Shetland Creek Wildfire, effective as of 2 p.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 6).

Approximately 14 addressed properties have been downgraded to an evacuation alert, in addition to the 272 properties on alert effective this morning as outlined in the attached map.

Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to an evacuation order, but limited notice may be received due to changing conditions.

The evacuation order remains in effect for approximately 17 addressed properties in Electoral Area “I” (Blue Sky Country).
