Kamloops RCMP: Series of motor-vehicle-related thefts in Dalgleish area among files that made for busy Saturday

Kamloops RCMP Staff Sgt. Kelly Butler said a string of motor-vehicle-related thefts are among incidents that kept police busy on Saturday (July 27).

“We had 78 files in about 12 hours and I can tell you last night we had 51 files,” Butler said. “Some theft from motor vehicles. I think we had six up in the Dalgleish area. Yesterday was super busy.”

Butler said most of the files were nothing out of the ordinary – with neighbourhood disputes and disturbances, fights and theft among usual suspects.

“We deal with a lot of the same calls on a daily basis,” Butler said. “A lot of people calling in because we have transients. They want us to move them along.”

Butler noted police recovered a stolen wallet after discovering a person allegedly attempting to use a credit card that does not belong to them at a store.

“We do have one person in custody on fraud,” Butler said, noting charges have not yet been laid. “Again, people need to lock their items up.”
