Evacuation alert lifted for 14 properties in Sorrento area

SORRENTO, B.C. — An evacuation alert for 14 properties near Sorrento was lifted on Saturday (July 27) morning.

The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) issued the alert on Tuesday (July 23) for properties on Elson Road and South Shore Place due to a wildfire burning in Electoral Area G.

Residents are asked to continue to be aware of the situation and check in with CSRD communication channels, as the fire is not out.
