February 8, 1947 – June 20, 2024   

Richard Moore Harestad of Kamloops passed away on June 20, 2024, at the age of 77 with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife Judy of almost 52 years. His children Mihe, Dawn and Justin (MarieLena). His many grandchildren Theoren, Lucas, Mckaila, Leslie, Oliver, Lena, Shawn, Ethan, Cooper, Christian, Gordon, Emmett and Bruce. His Sister Alison (Avtar) and brother David (Ione). His many nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws. 

Predeceased by his parents Gladys and Ingram Harestad his sisters Melody (Jack), Anna and his brothers Frank and Alton. 

Everyone knew Richard as Dick he was born February 8, 1947, in Ocean Falls. He grew up in the east side of Vancouver. Before he was married, he worked on the fish packers up and down the coast of B.C. After he was married (September 19, 1972) he did an apprenticeship in drywall, finishing working in B.C. and Alberta for 40 years. The last few years he worked at cleaning offices etc. 

Dick loved his video games. He had so many games and systems. First, he played with his children then with his grandchildren Dick loved his blue healer Rue. Many people would see him out with his dog training him by the airport. Rue passed away last October. I’m sure they are together. Rest in peace.
