Clearwater emergency room to close overnight Monday

CLEARWATER, B.C. — Another Interior emergency room will be closed overnight Monday night (July 8).

Interior Health says the emergency department at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital in Clearwater will close at 6:00 p.m. Monday, reopening at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The closure is attributed to limited nursing availability.

Anyone in the Clearwater area in need of emergency medicine is asked to attend Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops or 100 Mile House District General Hospital. 9-1-1 service is still availabile.
