Rivers FC falls to TSS Rovers in Burnaby

KAMLOOPS — Rivers FC were swamped at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby on Friday (June 28).

Rivers FC’s men’s squad were blown out 5-1 to TSS Rovers. After trailing 2-0 at halftime, Ryan Lewis scored in the 49th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1. However, two goals by TSS Rovers in the following eight minutes put the match out of reach. TSS Rovers added the fifth goal in the seventh minute of stoppage time.

The women’s match was closer, but Rivers FC fell to TSS Rovers 1-0 after surrendering a goal in the 68th minute.

Rivers FC’s men’s squad falls to two wins, six losses and one draw on the League1 BC season, good for seven points in nine matches. They’re sixth in the table.

The women fall to one win, five losses and three draws on the season, good for six points in nine matches. They’re also sixth in the table.

Rivers FC returns home on Saturday, July 6 to welcome Unity FC from Surrey. The women play at 3:00 p.m. from Hillside Stadium while the men play at 6:00 p.m.
