Kamloops Airport advises passengers to check flight status amid WestJet strike

KAMLOOPS — WestJet mechanics walked off the job on Friday evening, leading to delays and cancellations across the airline.

The impacts of the strike have begun to affect operations at YKA in Kamloops on Saturday (June 29).

As of 8:30 a.m., one arrival has been cancelled by WestJet as a flight from Calgary will not be arriving. At this time no departures have been impacted.

YKA did take to Twitter on Saturday morning warning Kamloops travelers about the strike, recommending that passengers check their flight status with the airline before heading to the airport.
