Water plant malfunction leads to restrictions in Cache Creek

CACHE CREEK, B.C. — UPDATE (12:30 p.m.): The village says water restrictions have now been lifted.

EARLIER: The Village of Cache Creek instituted Stage 4 water restrictions Tuesday morning (June 25).

In a notice issued via Voyent Alert!, the village says its water treatment plant has experienced a malfunction.

Beginning immediately, residents and users of the local water system are asked to severely limit their water use, preferably to cooking and for personal hygiene purposes.

There is no estimated timeline for full service being restored. The village says it will issue another alert when the restriction is lifted.
