KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are looking for information that could help identify a suspect in a recent assault investigation.

Police were called to the 900-block of Norview Drive at about 11 a.m. on Saturday (June 14) for a report of a teenager who had been assaulted by a stranger about 10 minutes earlier.

The victim’s injuries were minor.

“The teenager was visiting family from out of town and it’s unknown why the stranger entered the yard, then physically assaulted the youth before running away,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in a media release.

Police conducted neighbourhood patrols and inquiries, but were unable to snare a suspect.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set Caucasian male, with old blisters or cuts on his knuckles.

He was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans, with white paint stains around the shins.

Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-18434.
