Wildfire south of Clinton grows to 12ha

A wildfire that ignited about three kilometres south of Clinton has grown since it was discovered on Friday (June 14) along Highway 97, about 1.3 kilometres southeast of Salt Lake.

The BC Wildfire Service notes on its website the fire was 12 hectares as of Saturday (June 15) morning, up from four hectares on Friday afternoon.

Initial attack crews and a unit crew are working on the wildfire with the support from BCWS aviation resources and heavy equipment.

The blaze is classified as out of control and is suspected to be human-caused.
