Kamloops Centre for the Arts added to BC Bid website

KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops is getting the building sector ready for the construction of a performing arts centre.

Last week, the city posted an advance notice of the project on the BC Bid website.

The city notes Station One Architects has already been engaged to design the Kamloops Centre for the Arts.

In February, Kamloops council approved $7 million for detailed design and validation costs. That work was meant to make the project ‘shovel ready.’ The last cost estimate for the project was $120 million.

Station One has been engaged since soon after Kamloops businessman and philanthropist Ron Fawcett took the lead in driving the project forward.
