Police looking for info on truck that hit North Shore light post

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP hope a photo will trigger someone’s memory after a commercial truck caused significant damage to city infrastructure earlier this spring.

In a news release, Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says the incident happened on the evening of Wednesday, April 10, near the intersection of Ord Road and Batchelor Drive.

Evelyn says a truck hit a city light post and carried on down Eighth Street before taking the off-ramp to Halston Avenue, continuing toward the Halston Bridge.

The truck is described as having a white cab and towing a low-bed trailer with a ‘long load’ sign on the back.

The RCMP spokesperson says it’s unlikely the driver didn’t notice the collision.

“The driver side rear light was knocked off and hanging to the side as a result of the collision,” said Evelyn. “So far, police have been unable to identify the company or driver attached to the truck, and are releasing an image to the public in the hopes that someone will be able to assist us with more information.”

Anyone with further helpful information is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 and quote file number 2024-10418.
